A Barnsley print shop that turned into a supplier

P&J Prints started in Barnsley doing what most print shops do — t-shirts, a few hoodies, the odd mug. What changed things was saying yes to the awkward jobs: the rush order, the logo that arrived as a photograph of a business card, the client who needed two thousand tote bags before the end of the month.

Those jobs taught us to run the shop like a supplier rather than a shop. Artwork gets cleaned up before it is printed. Files are kept so a reorder comes back identical six months later. Nothing goes on a machine until the customer has seen a proof and said yes.

Today we run DTF printing, embroidery, laser engraving and litho print in-house. That matters more than it sounds: nothing sits in a queue at a third party, and when you ring up to ask where your order is, someone can actually walk over and look at it.

We still print one t-shirt for one person. We just do it with the same process we use for the two thousand.
